FEWER FORMS TO FILL – Promise to Badsey Pig Keepers

Prospects that pig keepers would have fewer forms to fill up were held out by Mr F Titterton, Regional Officer of the Small Pig Keepers Council when on Friday at the annual supper of the Badsey and Aldington Pig Club, he proposed the health of the club.  Through representations made by the Council to the appropriate Government department, pig keepers would only have to fill up one form for three months’ meal.  There was also a possibility of the end of meal rationing for although there was a shortage of protein foods, there was an abundance of cereal food.

Even if meal rationing were abolished, Mr Titterton hoped that pig clubs would continue to function.  The Small Pig Keeepers Council still hoped to continue a vital service for their members.

Of club development, the speaker said that although an organisation of 8,000 clubs had been built up throughout the country, new clubs were not keeping up with those which were being disbanded.

In a tribute to the Badsey club, the Regional Officer said that its strength was largely due to the excellent work of the secretary, Mr Vic Wasley.

Mr Titteron proved his versatility by acting as accompanist to the following artistes:  Messrs H Sadler, E Shelley, F Wheeler, W Sears, L Salter, W Stanley and Captain Lancaster.

The supper was prepared and served by the club’s hostess, Miss C Wixey and several lady helpers.
