JOURNALIST’S WEDDING

The wedding was solemnised at St James’ Church by the Vicar (Rev W C Allsebrook, RD) on Sunday of Miss Alice F Agg, only daughter of Mr & Mrs H Agg of Belmont Terrace, and Mr John Henry Bird, second son of Mr & Mrs W Bird of Badsey.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by two bridesmaids, the Misses Ada Bird and Jane Davis.  The best man was Mr A Reed, an old friend of the bridegroom.  The reception was held at the bride’s home.  The bridegroom has for years taken a great interest in church affairs, having been at different times chorister, Sunday School teacher, church councillor and bellringer.  His other activities include joint Secretary of Badsey Flower Show, Secretary of the Evesham Asparagus Growers’ Association, and he is at present the Evesham Journal’s representative at Stratford-on-Avon.  The newly-married couple were the recipients of many useful and valuable presents.  They left on Monday morning for Weston-super-Mare where the honeymoon is being spent.
