Miss Nellie Moore and Mr A J Harwood 

Miss Nellie Moore, daughter of Mrs E Moore of 8 Littleworth Street, Evesham, was married at St Laurence’s Church, Evesham, on Saturday, to Mr Arthur James Harwood, youngest son of Mr & Mrs Walter Harwood of Badsey.

The bridegroom is a market gardener and the bride for the past eight years has been employed by Mr G H PHIPPS OF 11 Albert Road, Evesham.

The ceremony was conducted by the Vicar of Evesham, the Rev Canon T Charles Jones.  The bridegroom’s brother, Mr Cecil Harwood of Badsey, was best man.

The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr Howard Payne, wore a turquoise blue two-piece suit with navy blue accessories and a spray of pink carnations.

The bride’s sister, Mrs Lilian Fiander, who was matron of honour, wore a blue costume with pink and brown accessories and a spray of pink carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother.  The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a cheque and his gift to the matron of honour a gold bangle.  The bride presented the bridegroom with a set of gold cuff links.

The many presents included an oak sideboard from the bride’s employers.

Mr & Mrs Harwood will live at 4 Haines Place, Evesham.
