MARRIAGE OF MISS I E JELFS

The marriage of Miss Iris Ellen Jelfs, eldest daughter of Mr Walter Jelfs, and Mr Francis William Jerffries, only son of Mr Frank Jeffries of Alderton, was solemnised at Badsey Parish Church on Saturday.  The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, Rev W C Allsebrook.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in an ankle length dress of white satin with a wreath of orange blossom and veil, and carried a shower bouquet of red roses.  She was attended by her two sisters, Miss D and Miss W Jelfs, who were dressed in rose pink taffeta dresses of ankle length, with close-fitting hats to match and carried bouquets of pink carnations.  They also wore birthday rings, the gift of the bridegroom.  As the couple left the church, the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by her little godchild.  The reception was held at the home of the bride, about 100 relatives and friends being present.  The couple will make their home at Alderton.
