BADSEY WEDDING

The wedding took place in St James’ Church on Saturday morning, Canon Allsebrook officiating, of Miss Lilian Grove, third daughter of Mr & Mrs A Grove of Badsey, and Mr William George Brain, elder son of Mr & Mrs William Brain of Mickleton.  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of pale blue georgette with navy coat and hat and shoes to match.  She carried a bouquet of mixed roses.  The best man was Mr F G Kinchin of Mickleton.  After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, about 30 guests being present.  Later in the day the happy couple left for Cheltenham.  Mr & Mrs Brain, who were the recipients of a large number of useful presents, will make their home at Woodbine Cottages, Tadpole, Mickleton.  The bridegroom is very well known in the district, especially in sporting circles.  He was at one time captain of Mickleton Cricket Club and also played football for the village team for a number of years.
