BADSEY WEDDING – Miss N Crisp and Mr F E Jones
Members of the Evesham Ladies’ Hockey Club formed a guard of honour for Miss Nancy Crisp when she was married to Mr Francis Edward Jones in St James’ Church, Badsey, on Tuesday.
The bride is the second daughter of Mr & Mrs E Crisp of the Post Office, Badsey, and the bridegroom is the second son of Mr & Mrs G Jones of Norfolk House, Badsey.
Attired in a brown two-piece suit with matching accessories and a spray of orchids fastened to her coat, the bride was given away by her eldest brother, Mr H Crisp.

The service was conducted by the Vicar of Bengeworth (the Rev F J Wells) in the absence of the Vicar of Badsey (the Rev Canon W C Allsebrook, RD).
Owing to the illness of the bride’s father, a reception for members of the family only was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
Mr & Mrs Jones left for London where the honeymoon is being spent.
Miss Crisp has been an assistant in the Badsey Post Office and on the telephone exchange for several years. A member of the Evesham Ladies’ Hockey Club, she was for several years club secretary and captain of the second eleven. She has taken a great interest in the social life of the village and has been captain of the Wickhamford Girl Guides.
The bridegroom is a well-known market gardener and flower grower.
Mr & Mrs Jones will make their home at Orchard View, Badsey.
