COUNTY COURT – JOHN MELEN  v THOMAS BOLLIN LANGLEY AND RALPH SHAW

The cause of action was goods sold and delivered, the amount whereof was £10 4s 6d.  Defendants carried on the business of silk throwsters at Badsey near Evesham and in the years 1851 and 1852 contracted the above claim; a short time since the mills were given up, and the defendants decamped without discharging the amount.  Mr Elgie having opened the case and substantiated it by the necessary proof, His Honour gave judgment for immediate payment with full costs.  Defendants failed to appear.
