WEDDING

The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church on Saturday of Miss Helen Attwood, the third daughter of Mr L Attwood of 7 Boat Lane, and Mr Cecil Collett, the only son of the late Mr & Mrs C Collett of Brewers Lane, Badsey.  The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white satin, ankle-length dress and a veil which was held in position by a headdress of orange blossom.  She carried a bouquet of Madonna lilies.  Her two bridesmaids were Miss Doris Attwood (sister) and Miss Kathleen Wright (friend), while little Evelyn Taylor (niece) was the child attendant.  The bridesmaids wore pale blue ankle-length dresses with headdresses and shoes to tone and carried bouquets of mauve tulips.  Evelyn Taylor was attired in a pale pink ankle-length dress and carried a posy of tulips.  The bridesmaids wore necklaces, the gift of the bridegroom.  The Rev W C Stephenson conducted the service and Mr Harry Attwood, brother of the bride carried out the duties of best man.  A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride’s parents, where some 40 guests were entertained.  The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents, including gifts from Messrs Beach’s where the bride has been employed for the past five years, and Messrs Beach’s Social Club.  Mr & Mrs Collett will make their future home at Brewers Lane, Badsey.
