Miss R Huxley and Mr A Russell

Miss Rose Huxley, the third daughter of Mrs R and the late Mr E T Huxley of 54 Avon Street, was married in St Laurence Church on Thursday to Mr Aubrey Russell, the only son of Mr A and the late Mrs Russell of Badsey.

The bride wore a white satin gown with a short train and a long white veil held by a halo of orange blossom.  Her bouquet was of pink tulips.  She was given away by her brother, Mr E Huxley.

The bridesmaids were Miss E Huxley, Miss K Huxley, Miss M Huxley (sisters) and Miss B Burtonwood (friend).

The Misses E and K Huxley were attired in gowns of a patterned mauve silk and short veils secured by silver bands and posies.  The other attendants wore similar gowns of pink silk with matching headdresses.  They carried posies of anemones and wore mauve and pink necklets, the gift of the bridegroom.

Mr R Woodcock of Kings Road was best man.  The Rev J A Crofts conducted the service.  Fifty guests attended a reception at Grove’s Tea Gardens.

The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold necklet and pendant and the bride gave the bridegroom a wrist watch.

For the past eight years the bride has been employed by Messrs T W Beach & Sons Ltd, Church Street, Evesham.  The bridegroom is employed by Messrs G Ward & Sons Ltd, Badsey Lane.
