Cyril Norman GREEN (1896-1917)

Biographical Details

Cyril Norman Green (1896-1917) was a day pupil at Christ College, Brecon, from 1911-1912.  His name is mentioned in a letter written by Mela Brown Constable to her fiancé, Cyril Sladden, but Cyril would not have known him as he had left Brecon by then.

Cyril Green was born at Pembroke Dock, the son of John and Bessie Rundle Green.  The family later lived at Tenby, Brecon and Haverfordwest.  He joined the Royal Field Artillery, 55th Division Ammunition Company, and was killed in action on 11th March 1917, aged 21.  Driver Green was buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. His parents were living at 7 Bridge Street, Haverfordwest, at the time of his death.
