Following on from a successful musical soirée in 2024 in the Tuttons’ back garden, the Chameleon Quintet has kindly agreed to come and play for us again. Please bring a picnic and drinks, if you wish, and folding chairs if possible – though some will be available on the night. The group will play a selection of light and popular classics for around 30-40 minutes. There will then be a break when you can enjoy your picnic and chat, followed by more informal background music.
The Chameleon Wind Quintet was formed in 2010 by a group of local players; committee member, Helen Green, who plays the oboe, is a part of the group. The quintet plays regularly throughout the West Midlands, including Sinfonia of Birmingham, Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of St John, Redditch Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and the British Police Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble derives its name from the many colours used by a chameleon – hence the link with the differing individual sounds of each instruments of the ensemble.
