Details of Will

I, William Pigeon the elder of Badsey, yeoman, being somewhat weak and diseased in body but of perfect and sound mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God, give my soul unto Almighty God my master and his son Jesus Christ my Redeemer and the Holy Ghost my Comforter by whom I trust to have forgiveness of all my sins and my body I commend to the earth from whence it came to be buried in the church or churchyard of Badsey at the direction of my Executors and as to such worldly goods which it has pleased God to make me owner:

  • To my mother the sum of 10 shillings as a token of my love
  • To my brother John Pigeon the sum of £10
  • To the son and daughter of John Roberts of Great Hampton the sum of £5
  • To Anne Smith the daughter of Anthony Smith the sum of 20 shillings
  • To Grace Smith the daughter of Thomas Smith the sum of 20 shillings
  • All the sums to be paid within one year after my decease
  • All the rest of my goods to my brother Edward Pigeon and to Edith Evans, my servant
