Details of Will

I Charles Ballard of Aldington give:

  • The benefit of all my tenant right or interest in the house and land at Aldington aforesaid of which I am tenant unto my dear wife Ellen Ballard absolutely and all the furniture and effects in and about my house at Aldington and the money in the bank unto my Trustees upon trust to allow my wife to have the use and enjoyment of the furniture and effects during her life but without any responsibility in their part to see to the preservation thereof and also the money in the bank upon trust to invest the same upon securities authorised by law for the investment of trust funds and to pay the income thereof to my wife during her life.  And upon the death of my wife, upon trust to sell the furniture and effects and the securities upon which the money in the bank shall then be invested and to divide the proceeds of such sales equally among my children then living, the child or children of any deceased child of mine to take the share to which his her or their parent would have been entitled if then living
  • And as to all the rest and residue of my property if any I give devise and bequeath the same to my youngest son Edwin Ballard absolutely.
