BINYON, John Frederick

John Frederick Binyon (1868-1936), known as Jack, was the eldest brother of Charles Binyon.

John Binyon was born on 10th June 1868 at Lancaster, the eldest of nine children of the Reverend Frederick Binyon and his wife, Mary (née Dockray).  He was baptised on 8th July in Lancaster; the ceremony was conducted by his father.  Four of his siblings died in infancy leaving him as the eldest of five brothers.

John was a solicitor.  He married Mabel Fynes Clinton on 3rd June 1897 at Didsbury, Lancashire.  They lived at Gilbertfield, Grange-over-Sands and had three children:  Phyllis Mabel (1901-1979), Olwen Ruth (c1903-1976) and Dennis Edmund Fynes Clinton (1905-1907).

Mabel died on 22nd June 1918 at Clare House, Grange-over-Sands.  John died on 4th February 1936 at Edgware, Middlesex.
