MRS KATE SPARROW, BADSEY 

The death of Mrs Kate Sparrow, widow of Mr William Douglas Sparrow, of 10 Green Leys, Badsey, occurred suddenly at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr & Mrs T Keen, 2 Synehurst, Badsey, in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Although she had not enjoyed good health for some time, she appeared to be in good spirits on Saturday, and went with her daughter to the parish churchyard during the afternoon, and sat in St James' Church for a time. Her husband predeceased her about two and a half years ago. 

A native of Badsey. she was the third daughter of the late Mr & Mrs William Collett of Belle Vue, Chapel Street, Badsey, and was 80 years of age. In 1897 she was married at St James' Church, Badsey, to Mr William Douglas Sparrow, and they resided in Badsey all their married life. She was one of the original members of the Mothers' Union, the Women's Institute, the Sanctuary Guild and the Women's Section of the British Legion, but had not been an active member for the past few years owing to ill health. 

She was a regular worshipper at St James’ Church. She is survived by two daughters. The funeral gook place at Badsey on Wednesdav afternoon.
