Probate details
I, Edward Johns of Badsey, Market Gardener, give:
- To Joseph Thomas Johns and Ernest Edward Mustoe, a legacy of £10 if they prove the will.
- To my wife for her personal needs, £500 absolutely and also my furniture, plate, linen, china and household effects.
- To my Trustees, all my real and personal estate and property.
- To my son, Samuel Heming Jones, £1000 (part of my trust estate) after the decease of my wife.
- To my three children, Samuel Heming Johns, Lucy Christine Johns and Margaret Eileen Johns, the residue of the trust estate.
If my son dies in the lifetime of my wife without leaving issue, his legacy shall go into and form part of the trust estate. I empower my Trustees at their discretion when and if my son attains the age of 21 and during my wife’s lifetime to apply any part of his legacy of £1000 or the whole if they think advisable in or towards his establishment in any trade or business to be approved by my Trustees or his advancement in the world in any other manner which may appear to them expedient. I authorise and empower my Trustees at their discretion at any time pending the final distribution of my trust estate to invest any part of the trust funds in the purchase of freehold properties and particularly in the purchase of any freehold properties at Badsey which belonged to my late father, Samuel Johns, and passed under his will and the property so purchased shall be vested in my Trustees and be subject to the same trusts and provision as my trust estate.
