WEDDING
The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church on Saturday of Miss Doris Annie Geden, only daughter of Mr R Geden and the late Mrs Geden of Parks Farm, Aldington, and Mr Cyril Harrison Hawker, only son of Mr & Mrs A Hawker of 6 Windsor Road. The bride, who was tastefully attired in white satin with veil and halo of orange blossom, was given away by her father. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses and maidenhair fern. Attending her as bridesmaids were two friends, the Misses Dolly Carter and Ursula Stevens. Little Miss Rowlett Cook acted as attendant. The Misses Carter and Stevens were dressed in pink flowered georgette with pink hats and carried bouquets of yellow and red roses while Miss Cook wore pink crepe de chine and had a bouquet of pink and mauve sweet peas. Each of them wore a golden amethyst necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Reginald Geden was best man. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev P Cowen (Curate) and Mr A M Slatter was at the organ. A reception was held at the Montfort Café. The honeymoon is being spent in London and the couple will make their future home at Parks Farm.
