In the post First World War period, four members of the same Collett family moved to Wickhamford from Wordsley, Kingswinford, Staffordshire, and three of them married in Wickhamford. Whilst there had been Colletts living in Badsey and Wickhamford since the 18th century, these Colletts do not appear to be related in anyway. The four Colletts were:
The ladies of the Flower Guild at St James’ Church excelled themselves for the Flower Festival which was held in the church over the Bank Holiday weekend. The theme was the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and there was a stunning array of floral arrangements depicting various aspects of the Queen’s life during her long and distinguished reign.
It was a fine day for the fifth Badsey Soapbox Derby held on Sunday 28th August 2022. The COVID pandemic had meant that, not since 2019, were the crowds able to congregate on Knowle Hill to watch soapboxes, in all shapes and form, hurtle down the hill.
DEATH OF MR W WOODWARD, BADSEY
His many friends throughout the neighbourhood will learn with regret of the death of Mr William Woodward of Homemead, Blackminster, Badsey, which took place at his home on Wednesday morning.
Mr Woodward, who was 71 years of age, had been in failing health for some time. He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter, to whom sympathy is expressed.
The funeral takes place at Badsey on Saturday morning at 11.30.

Another successful Members’ Evening was held at The Pub in a Club. Will Dallimore, Pat Morcombe and Brian Smith kick-started the evening by chatting about Badsey in the 1950s covering a wide-ranging number of subjects: shops, pubs, school, sports, people, events.
We didn't appreciate it at the time, but this was to be the last in-person meeting to be held for 18 months due to the global pandemic.
Our first Members’ Night, held at The Pub in a Club, proved to be a popular event, so it has been decided to repeat this in May. The March evening began with a brief talk by Tom Sandham about bell-ringing. Some members had brought along photos and these proved a useful discussion point.
WHITE WEDDING AT BADSEY – Mr J E Austin and Miss M Robinson
On Wednesday last week, Miss Muriel Robinson, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs H Robinson of Manor House, Badsey, was married at Badsey Church to Mr John Edward Austin, eldest son of Mr & Mrs F J Austin of Malvern View, Harvington.
The bride wore a white cloque dress with train. Her white veil was held in place with a headdress of lilies of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of camellias, lilies of the valley and white heather.
FORMER EVESHAM TABLE TENNIS CHAMPION – Married at Badsey
At St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday, Miss Irene Lilian Butler, only daughter of Mr P J Butler and the late Mrs P J Butler of 2 Cotswold View, Badsey, was married to Mr Sidney Frank Halford, second son of Mr & Mrs C Halford of Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford.

Mr Percy James Butler of Cotswold View, 26 Willersey Road, Badsey, died at Worcester Royal Infirmary on Wednesday morning. He had been ill for only little over a week, and his death came very unexpectedly.
