A few hardy souls met at the Remembrance Hall for a stroll round the northern part of Badsey. Unfortunately the good weather of the night before did not last and the walk had to be abandoned three-quarters of the way through because of rain. However, a print-out provided by Maureen Spinks means that anyone can follow the route on a self-guided walk.
On a glorious Friday evening, a large number of people met at The Wheatsheaf to take a stroll round the centre of Badsey looking at houses which appeared in the 1921 census. The walk was enlivened by contributions from long-term residents of the village who had lots of fascinating information to add. POPULAR EVESHAM FOOTBALLER WEDS – MRS GEORGE KNIGHT AND MISS D ANDREWS
Mr George Edgar Knight, of Badsey, the popular Evesham Town AFC player, who has also seen service with Cheltenham Town and Bromsgrove Rovers in the Birmingham Combination, was married at All Saints’ Church, Evesham, today.
A member of a family of great sportsmen, Mr Knight has for several seasons figured prominently in senior football, and at the present time is Evesham Town’s inside right.
As many of you will know from reports in the press and notices posted in the village, 68-year-old Margaret Tyszkow went missing from her home in Badsey on 24th November 2021. She was sadly found dead on 27th January 2022 when her body was recovered from the River Avon.
