My Dearest Wife,

I have only just returned from Gloucester and have only a few minutes to catch post, so I must write at greater length this evening.

We are all quite well at home but very anxious to get you home.  You had better come either by 2.15 and change to slow train at Oxford for Badsey or by 4.45 to Evesham and take fly from there, do which you like best only let me know.  I hope you had a good passage, it is nice to think you are not far off.  With much love dearest wife

I am as ever
your loving husband

Julius Sladden
