Daniel Arthur Rowlands (c1859-1935) was the uncle of Mary Christabel Williams who married Arthur Sladden in April 1914.

Daniel Rowlands was born about 1859 at Cardigan, the fourth of seven children of Daniel Rowlands, an Excise Officer, and his wife, Sarah Jane.  At the time of the 1861 census they lived at 10 Pendre Street, Cardigan.

Daniel became a schoolmaster and was still living at home on Priory Street, Cardigan, with his widowed mother and unmarried siblings at the time of the 1891 census.

Daniel then trained as a clergyman.  He married Isabella Sarah Vaughan Phillips in 1900 in the Brecknock district of Breconshire.  In 1901, they were living at 22 Victoria Terrace, Abram, near Wigan, where Daniel was the Church of England minister.  He was still the Minister there in 1911.   

Reverend Rowlands died at Ashbrook, Windsor Road, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, on 18th October 1935.
