Nora Mary SCHENK (née O’SULLIVAN) (1887-1948)

Biographical Details

Nora Mary O’Sullivan (1887-1948) was the wife of Harold Schenk who was a schoolfriend of Arthur Sladden.

Nora was born on 24th August 1887 at Swansea, the eldest of eight surviving children of Denis O’Sullivan, a metal merchant, and his wife, Georgina.  At the time of the 1911 census, she was a student and living with her parents and siblings at Beira, Rotherslade, Mumbles.

At the time of the 1939 register, Nora was living at Battle House, Goring, Henley, with her elder daughter, Gisela.  Nora was working as a journalist and was also an ARP Warden.

Nora died in 1948 in Paddington, London.
