John Percy Lloyd (1891-1929) was a colleague of Cyril Sladden in the 9th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment.

John Lloyd was born at North Littleton in 1891, the third of seven children of William Lloyd, a wheelwright, and his wife, Winnefred.

At the time of the 1911 census, John was working as a hotel porter at Worcestershire Brine Baths Hotel, Droitwich.

On the outbreak of war, John volunteered with the Worcestershire Regiment.  As part of the 9th Battalion, Lance Corporal Lloyd (17213) arrived in the Dardanelles on 4th July 1915, along with Cyril Sladden.  On 27th January 1916, Julius Sladden met John at Abbey Manor Hospital, Evesham, where he was a patient.  Lance Corporal Lloyd told Julius that Cyril had bound his wound when he was wounded.

John died at Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, on 11th August 1929, aged 38, pre-deceasing his parents.
