Edward Percival Walpole SIMMONS (1889-1974)

Biographical Details

Edward Percival Walpole Simmons (1889-1974) was the brother of Christopher Robert Walpole Simmons who was Assistant Adjutant at Southern Depot Command, Sutton Coldfield, at the time that Mela Brown Constable was working there.

Edward Percival Walpole Simmons was born at Worcester, the third of five children of Edward Walpole Simmons, a doctor of medicine, and his wife, Amy Louisa Ida. He grew up at 26 Sidbury, Worcester.

Edward became a brewer and was a pupil of Julius Sladden in his brewery.

He married Mary Pickering in 1917 and they had one daughter, Eileen Mary (1917-2003).  Mary died in 1947 and he then married her elder sister, Anne, in 1950.  Edward died in the Newark region in 1974.
