Mabel Tilsley lived in Chipping Norton close to the Rawlinson family.

Mabel (c1804-1882) was born about 1804 at Salford, Warwickshire.  She married Henry Tilsley, proprietor of the Lunatic Asylum at Hook Norton.  They lived at Rock Hill House, Chipping Norton.  Henry died at Chipping Norton in 1858 after “a long and severe illness”.  

By now widowed, in 1861, Mabel was living with her younger sister, Louisa Cruso, also a widow, and her two children, Catherine and Henry, in Old Town, Stratford on Avon.  Louisa died in 1868, and Mabel brought her niece, to live with her in Chipping Norton.

Mabel died at Rock Hill House on 24th July 1882.
