India - Kallyan Junction

Kallyan (spelt Kalyan since independence) is in the Indian state of Maharashtra, just north of Bombay (now known as Mumbai).  Then, as now, it was a major railway junction station between north and south India.

On 2nd June 1916, Cyril Sladden got a train from Poona to Kallyan, from where he got a through train most of the way to Simla.
