HISTORY OF BADSEY IN PHOTOGRAPHS

It is proposed to compile a collection of photographs as shown here depicting village life, events, personalities etc, past, present and future, to be held in safe keeping by an organisation possibly called “BADSEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY”, to preserve these valuable items for future generations.

Contains pen sketches by Mr Binyon & Mr Royle; photos of the opening of Badsey fountain in 1912; Badsey Bazaar, 1913; Badsey Flower Show Committee; Badsey bellringers; Badsey Council School Football Team 1919-1920; the old Manor.

Supporting Information

The exhibition was held in 1971 at the meeting house in Chapel Street.  There was talk of forming an organisation called Badsey Historical Society, but that never came to pass.  It was to be another 30 years before The Badsey Society was formed.
