Four generations of Lees-Milne ladies

This picture of four generations of the Lees-Milne family was taken at Wickhamford Manor in 1934.  Young Prudence Arthur is standing between her mother, Audrey Arthur and Great-grandmother, Mary Lees-Milne, with her Grandmother, Helen Lees-Milne, behind.

Mary Emma Lees-Milne, née Nesbitt (1853-1936), was the daughter of a London hide broker of Scottish Border origins.  She was George Lees-Milne’s mother, who had married his father, James, in 1877.  She lived at Ribbesford Hall, Worcestershire.

Helen Lees-Milne, née Bailey (1884-1962), had married George Lees-Milne at St George’s, Hanover Square, London in 1904 and they moved to Wickhamford Manor in 1906.  Their first child, Audrey, was born in 1905.  After her husband’s death, in 1949, she married Henry Taylor Horsfield in 1953.

Audrey Arthur, née Lees-Milne (1905-1990), had married Matthew Arthur in St John the Baptist Church, Wickhamford in 1931.  He was later 3rd Baron Glenarthur and their daughter, Prudence Armorel, was born in 1932.

Prudence Armorel Arthur (1932-1976) went on to marry Edwin Robinson, in 1953.
