St James’ Church, Badsey, was the scene of a charming wedding on Saturday when Miss Dorothy Joyce Jelfs, second daughter of Mr & Mrs E F Jelfs of Silk Mills, Badsey, was married to Mr Arthur Edward Pipcin, eldest son of Mr & Mrs D Pipcin of 24 Headcorn Road, Staplehurst, Kent.

The marriage took place at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday afternoon of Miss Phyllis Doreen Goodall, second daughter of Mr & Mrs Goodall of Park Road, Blockley, and Mr Peter Alan Horne, youngest son of Mr & Mrs P Horne of 9 Gordon Gardens, Edgware, Middlesex.  The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, Reg J G Jeffreys.

St James’ Church, Badsey, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday morning when Miss Katherine Mary Perkins, eldest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs J Perkins of 5 Synehurst, Badsey, was married to Mr Phillip William Ballard, only son of Mr & Mrs P Ballard of 14 Shinehill Lane, South Littleton.

St James’ Church, Badsey, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday when Miss Helen Myra Hartwell, only daughter of Mr & Mrs Elgar Hartwell of Hollywood Villa, Badsey, was married to Mr Albert Oliver Stanton, eldest son of Mr & Mrs F Stanton of 93 Kings Road, Evesham.

The bride comes from a well known Badsey family and is extremely popular in the village.  Educated at Badsey Council School, she has for the last 6½ years been a member of the staff of the BBC at Wood Norton and Birmingham.
