EVESHAM R.D.C. ALLOW DEVELOPMENT

Evesham Rural District Council have agreed to permit Messrs. J. Taylor and Sons, builders, of Evesham, to develop their site on the Evesham-road, Broadway, at a density of one house to an acre.

Hotel Porch Demolished
At Wickhamford

A lorry driver had a narrow escape from very severe injury early this morning, when the vehicle he was driving in the direction of Broadway suddenly served across the road at Wickhamford and demolished the porch at the Sandys Arms Hotel.

The driver of the vehicle, who was conveyed to Evesham Hospital in a semi-conscious condition, is at present unidentified.

BOUND OVER FOR ASSAULT AT EVESHAM

A fracas between members of two Wickhamford families had a sequel in Evesham Police Court on Monday when charges of alleged assault and wilful damage were heard.

George Sutton, aged 54, of Pitcher’s Hill, Wickhamford, was summoned by Mrs. Eva Dolphin, of Pitcher’s Hill, Wickhamford, for assault, for using threats, and for wilful damage to a window amounting to 7s. 6d.

CASE DISMISSED

Alleged Obstruction By A Stall At Evesham

A summons for alleged obstruction by a stall on the Evesham-Broadway-road was dismissed by Evesham magistrates today when James Dolphine, of the Bungalow, Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford, was summonsed for obstruction on June 9.

He was represented by Mr. K. Gill Smith and pleaded not guilty.

P.C. Harris said the stall hampered the view of motorists going towards Evesham.
