NO ROAD FUND LICENCE

MOTOR-CYCLIST FINED AT EVESHAM

In addition to having his driving licence disqualified for 12 months, Frederick J.T. Taylor, of Council-Houses, Wickhamford, summoned for driving a motor-cycle without a Road Fund licence and a certificate of insurance, was fined a total of £2 10s. at Evesham County Petty Sessions to-day.

His licence was endorsed.

The sequel to a fatal accident at Wickhamford, near Evesham, on Spt. 19, was heard at Evesham County Petty Sessions yesterday, when a charge of manslaughter was brought against Pheneas Mory Horn (22), a fruit grower, of North End, Exning, near Newmarket.

Decision At Wickhamford Meeting

At a meeting held at the Sandys Arms, Wickhamford, near Broadway, it was unanimously decided to re-form the football club in the village. The club went out of existence several years ago.

There was a large attendance, and the election of officers resulted as follows:- Chairman, Mr. Sturt; secretary, Mr Frank Styles; treasurer, Mr. Riding, together with a provisional committee with power to add.

George Joseph Sutton and his wife, Annie Maud Sutton, both of Pitcher’s Hill, Wickhamford, were summoned for using indecent language. They were fined 10s. each and ordered to pay witnesses’ expenses.

LISTENERS TAKEN ‘DOWN ON THE FARM’

B.B.C.’s Vale of Evesham Broadcast

The B.B.C. took listeners ‘down on the farm’ last night in a programme broadcast partly from Evesham Town Hall and partly from the Birmingham studio.

Recordings made by the B.B.C. mobile unit of milking, a rotary cultivator, ploughing, shepherding, and a harvest home brought a realistic atmosphere of farm life into scores of homes.

DEATH IN HOSPITAL

Sequel to Wickhamford Man’s Accident

Charles William Wilkins, aged 42, of Wickhamford, died yesterday as a result of injuries sustained in a cycling accident at Badsey on March 27.

Wilkins, who was living on Pitcher’s Hill, Wickhamford, fell from his machine while cycling home. No other vehicle was involved. He was taken home and the following day removed to Evesham Infirmary. He never regained consciousness.
