My Dearest Wife,

I have been to Badsey to-day, the drawing-room is papered and looks nice, the painter will finish to-morrow.  The first thing on Monday we must have up the carpets in our bedroom and the drawing room and send them off at once as I find I cannot well arrange about the border till the carpet is on the spot, the dining room will be stained & varnished I hope in time so that the carpet can go down and the things go in at once upon their arrival, and if our bedroom carpet is previously fitted we shall do pretty well.  I must see Keitley or someone on my arrival on Saturday to make proper arrangements.  I was glad to hear you thought of going out yesterday in the afternoon.  I hope baby was good last night and allowed you to sleep tolerably well.

It has been a damp miserable day here not exactly warm or cold.  With much love and a kiss for baby I am

Ever your loving husband

Julius Sladden
