Sir

I am commanded by the Army Council to inform you that in consequence of the demobilization of the Army, a notification will be published in the London Gazette at an early date, to the effect that your relinquish your commission on completion of service.

You will retain the rank of Major, but such retention does not confer the right to wear uniform, except on appropriate occasions of a military nature.
