Henry Hayward (c1843-1928) was the brother-in-law of Charlotte Hayward (née Sladden), who was the sister of Julius Sladden.

Henry Hayward was born about 1843 in Dover, the youngest of eight children of John Hayward and his wife, Margaret Ann (née Coleman).  Henry was a land agent, auctioneer and surveyor.  He married Marianne Shackel in 1866 in the Wokingham district.  They had five children:  William Henry, Frederick George, Percy Shackel, Cecil John and Winifred M.

Throughout Henry’s working life, the Haywards lived at various places in Dover.  By 1911 they were living at 7 Camden Crescent.  In August 1914 when visiting his sister, Julius Sladden and his son, Cyril, were invited to lunch with Henry and Marianne Hayward in Dover.

Henry died at Eastward House, St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe on 7th October 1928, aged 85; his wife had died four years earlier.
