My Dearest Wife,

I have just time to write a few lines after supper, to catch the 9.45 P.M. collection.

I was glad to get your letter at dinner time yesterday, just after I had posted yours.  It has been very sunny and warm to-day, in the morning I went with Charlotte to the Parish Church, in the afternoon I had a good stroll by the sea and this evening have been to the festival service at S Michael's, it was very hearty and a good sermon but oh! ½ an hour of an orator’s afterwards, “The woman of Samaria” so called but very little of the woman, I must describe it when I come home.  I think I may take the express to Worcester at 1.40 on Tuesday in which case you may see me about 6 o’clock, I suppose I shall have to go and address that meeting at the Northwick later on.

With much love dear to you and the girls, not forgetting a kiss for Baba

I remain
Your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden

(In great haste)
