Saturday 5 October 1946 – Wedding of Joyce Margaret Malins at Badsey

BADSEY AND BRETFORTON FAMILIES UNITED – Miss J M Malins and Mr M Hay 

St James’ Church, Badsey, was filled to capacity on Saturday for the wedding of Miss Joyce Margaret Malins, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs G Malins of 22 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Maurice Hay, youngest son of Mr & Mrs J Hay of Main Street, Bretforton. 

Tne bride, who is very popular in Badsey, was educated at Badsey Council School and was a member of the Women's Land Army for two years. She was afterwards on the office staff at Woolworths, Evesham. 

Friday 14 May 1954 – Death of Rosemary Hay, aged 21 months

BABY KILLED IN LORRY MISHAP

A 21-month-old girl was fatally injured when in collision with a lorry at market garden land, known as Over the Line land, Bretforton, late yesterday.

She was Rosemary Hay, daughter of Mr & Mrs Maurice Hay, 36 Horsebridge Avenue, Badsey.  It is understood that the baby was playing near the lorry which was loading produce and that the child’s parents were onion pulling and ting in the vicinity.  The father is a market gardener.

Friday 11 December 1953 – Death and Inquest of Douglas Scott McDonald, aged 67

MAN DIES AFTER THROAT WOUND – Badsey Wife’s Discovery

When Mrs Alice Mary McDonald of Mostyn Villa, Chapel Street, Badsey, returned home from shopping at about 10.45 am on Wednesday she found her husband, Mr Douglas Scott McDonald (67), retired, in his bedroom with a severe throat wound.

After a doctor had been summoned, Mr McDonald was removed to Evesham Hospital whre he died shortly after.

The facts have been reported to the Coroner.

Saturday 27 September 1930 – Wedding of Francis Henry Sandford and Mildred Pearl Hatch at Badsey

BADSEY – PRETTY WEDDING 

In bright sunshine, the wedding took place at the Parish Church on Saturday last of Miss Mildred Pearl Hatch, elder daughter of Mr & Mrs W F Hatch of 18 Synehurst, and Mr Francis Henry Sandford, son of the late Mrs Sandford and Mr W Sandford of 11 Synehurst.  The Vicar (Canon W C Allsebrook, RD) officiated.

Friday 27 May 1955 – Wedding of Jean Sandford at Evesham

CATHOLIC CEREMONY AT EVESHAM – Miss J Sandford & Mr F M Dooley 

The marriage was solemnised at St Mary's Catholic Church, Evesham, on Wednesday week, of Miss Jean Sandford, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Sandford, of 32 Synehurst, Badsey, and Mr Frederick M Dooley, third son of Mr and the late Mrs J Dooley, of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The ceremony was performed by Father A J Proudman.
