Text of Letter

I am just sending a pc to greet you at Blackdown and inventing an address as you did not mention it in your letter. I was quite surprised to hear from you last night as I generally get your letters in the morning. I hope you are none the worse for your wetting – I forgot to mention 2 other reasons for my week of rest from everything when I come off duty. One is that I am taking the night nurses’ duty tomorrow and shall be up day and night so I shall make up for it afterwards. The other is that I find I cannot study because of being so fagged so am slacking it this week as a preliminary to a week of hard work previous to the exam. I hope you’ll find your new quarters weatherproof and fairly habitable.

It is lecture night so I cannot get off to be until that is over. I shall go out for about 20 minutes, then heigho for pleasant dreams and sweet repose.

Wilfred’s fiancée’s sister is visiting at BeverlyMother is still there.

Best love – goodbye for the present.

From M
