My dear Ethel

Many happy returns of your birthday I hope you will like the thimble we are giving you. Thank you and Kathleen for your letters, I am in school again I can get on all right, it is a little awkward writing, but I am getting quite handy with my one arm. I am glad you are getting on so well in school.

It is nice for Jack to be at Ramsgate, I should think he will get on all right I am glad you had a nice exeat, we go home on the 20th. I had a splendid letter from Cyril and a pretty long one from George last week. Father sent me some apples and walnuts a little while ago, they were very nice.

I expect I shall soon get my arm in a sling. I have been to Chapel for the first time this morning, you see one is apt to get into a crush coming out so I thought it best not to go for a bit.

We play Llandovery on Dec 3rd. I think we have a pretty good chance of beating them, I am glad you are liking hockey better,

With much love to you and Kathleen

I am

your loving brother

Arthur F. S. Sladden
