My Dearest Wife,

I must just write a line before post time to let you know we are all well at home.  I have not heard from you to-day but received your Tuesday’s letter all right.  Charlotte wrote yesterday.  Mrs H Haynes sent the enclosed to-day but I conclude you are invited as far as regards a nurse in fact I told Mrs Haynes so I think I will advertise in the Post again for a “general.” Haynes says he can recommend Mrs Walker, of Knight’s Court High St for your lying in ticket she is daily expecting so if you like her to have it you had better at once write Mrs Brown to that effect and ask her to let the woman have the things and that you will send the ticket on your return.  Kiss my little girl and with much love I remain

Your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden
