My Dear Kathleen,

I  must just write a line to send you my good wishes for your birthday but must leave Mother to write you the regular weekly letter.

I have had a fine drive to Alcester to-day, on Thursday I may go to Astwood Bank and Redditch and if the weather is favourable take Cylla boy, he is very anxious to go.

There is a nice hatch of 11 Dorking chicks and they seem to be getting on well, two of the geese are sitting and Jack has sat two hens on duck’s eggs, I think the poultry do well under his care.

Mrs Gepp and Blanche left this morning, the sale is on Friday and Mr Gepp will preach his farewell sermon on Sunday next, on Friday he is to be presented with his gold watch and an illuminated address containing the names of upwards of 200 subscribers.

With much love and hoping you will spend a happy birthday

I remain
Your affect. Father

Julius Sladden
