My dearest Wife,

I have just time (6 p.m.) to write you a few lines in time for the evening post, we have not heard from you since Monday morning so I shall address this as before.  Easter Monday was fine with us in the morning but very windy and later in the day it rained and yesterday afternoon and night it poured, to-day is finer.

Jack left by the last train on Monday and we heard to-day he got up in very fine time, he has now begun to work overtime, I think he enjoyed his short visit.  Yesterday Arthur and George went to see “Sweet Lavender” from the back seats and I dropped in this afternoon not being very busy, the performance was very well done, Kathleen too went to-day with the Ashwins, who had a spare ticket.  This evening I shall take Dip up with me to a Smoking Concert at the Northwick, at which Col Long is to be present.  I hope you and May had some fine weather in Paris, I suppose you are now on your way to Bourg.  We are all well and Juliet has been having a fine game with “her boys” while Ethel was helping at the school treat, it was lucky the weather cleared up for that.  The boys reports are all to hand and are quite satisfactory, Arthur’s as usual very good.

George received a nice communion book from his Aunt Florence by this morning’s post.

I shall try and have a trap to meet you on Saturday at 12.32 and hope to be at the station myself.  We are all looking forward to see you at home again, dear and with much love,

I remain
Ever your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden
