My dear Father

I must get a few letters written now that Arthur has left and while the lovers are entertaining each other in the dining-room. I hope Whist Drive went off well and brought in a respectable profit for the Recreation Ground Fund. I am sorry Mrs H Johns fell ill; it must have made May and Ethel very busy. We are looking forward to seeing you up here a fortnight hence. You will want to see the flat of course and I think you will be pleased with it. I went round there yesterday and liked it very much. Arthur moves in on Tuesday.

Next Sunday, our half-term, I shall be down at Bognor. I hope the weather will be kind. I had a long cheerful letter from Dolly last week. She seems quite settled in now at home. I seem to have little news today so will close with much love.

Your affectionate daughter
Kathleen
