Edward Pethard’s Account Book for the years from 1923 to 1929, and with two entries for 1934, gives an interesting insight into his work in and around Wickhamford during this period. He worked as an estate carpenter making and erecting fences, gates etc. as well as working for the local market gardeners.
In the Account Book the name R. Webb occurs many times. Mr Raymond Webb was an estate agent and surveyor living at 4 North Terrace, High Street, Evesham and he acted as agent for the John Pickup Lord Estate that consisted of land in Wickhamford, Badsey, Aldington and Bengewoth, Evesham. He was also the agent acting for the trustees of John Pickup Lord when they sold the Wickhamford Estate in September 1930. He also worked as agent for Christ Church College, Oxford.
