Mary Anna Robinson and family

Mary Anna Mourilyan (1845-1924), known as Polly, was the older sister of Eugénie Sladden.  Polly married Frederick Dalgarno Robinson in 1870; they lived at Marshgate House, Richmond.  Polly and Fred had four children:  Mary (1871-1959), Henry Dalgarno (1873-1954), Anna Magdalene (1875-1942) and Fanny (1877-1956).  Frederick was a solicitor and was also Mayor of Richmond in 1895.  This family portrait was probably taken in the mid 1890s.  Frederick died in 1901 and Polly died in 1924.

Numerous letters written by Polly Robinson to her sister, Eugénie, have been deposited at the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service; some of these letters have been digitised and transcribed.

We are grateful to Jenny Gosney, great-granddaughter of Mary Anna Robinson, for allowing us to publish these photos.
