The marriage took place at Malvern Baptist Church on Wednesday of Miss Edith Williams, second daughter of Mrs E R Williams and the late Mr Evan Williams of Birtley, Manby Road, Great Malvern and Mr Frederick George Smith, youngest son of Mr A W Smith of Blackminster, Evesham.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Peter Scott Williams, wore a picture gown of deep cream shadow lace with matching coloured poke bonnet trimmed with a tuile veil to tone and carried a bouquet of red roses.

The wedding was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Evesham, on Saturday, of Miss Gwendoline Mary Tooley, only daughter of Mr & Mrs Victor Tooley of 21 Mill Street, Evesham, and Mr John Edward Butler, eldest son of Mr & Mrs Arthur Butler of Chalcroft, Badsey.

Mr Neville Chamberlin was married at Offenham Parish Church, near Evesham, today.
Wait a moment. It could not, of course, be the Prime Minister – it was Henry Neville Chamberlain of Bristol, and no relation to his famous namesake.
His bride was Edith Mary Mead, only daughter of Mr & Mrs J G Mead of Blackminster, Evesham.
The bride, a former scholar of Warwick Girls’ High School and Evesham Grammar School, wore an aquamarine two-piece ensemble and carried pink roses.
HONEYBOURNE BRIDE – Miss K A Clarke married to Mr A W Smith
Considerable interest was aroused in the Broadway and Evesham districts in the marriage which took place at St Ecgwin’s Church, Honeybourne, near Broadway, on Wednesday, of Miss K A Clarke, daughter of Mr Henry Clarke of Fernleigh, Honeybourne, and Mr A W Smith, son of Mr A W Smith of Blackminster near Evesham.

RAOB EXALTATION – Mr C H Tutton Honoured at Badsey
Lodges from various parts of the Worcestershire Province gathered at the Ernie Thomas Lodge, Badsey, in the Royal Oak Assembly Room for the exaltation of Brother C H Tutton to the Second Degree. Brother C J Bird, KOM, occupied the “Royal Chair” and visiting lodges included the Earl of Coventry Lodge, Simon De Montfort Lodge (Evesham), Gainsborough Lodge (Campden), Gatehouse Lodge (Honeybourne), Cheltenham Star Lodge (Cheltenham) and several Worcester lodges.
WON 9 AWARDS AT FESTIVAL – Signalman’s Success as Public Speaker
Mr C H Tutton of Blackminster, Evesham, winner of the J W Rose Memorial Shield and gold medal at the 16th annual musical festival of the GWR at Reading on Saturday. He brought the trophy to the Midlands for the first time.
BADSEY DEATH – Mrs A W Perkins, wife of Mr A W Perkins of Fairview, Blackminster, died at her home on Thursday last week. Aged 72, deceased was of a retiring nature and during the war devoted her time towards growing and selling flowers in aid of the Prisoner of War Parcels Fund to which she contributed upwards of £40. The funeral service took place at St James Church, Badsey, on Tuesday, being conducted by the Vicar (Rev J G Jeffreys).
