My dear Mother

I got your letter this morning, having reached here safely on Wednesday evening. Baby is splendid, looks strong and healthy and progresses well. She is too much in the early baby stage for likenesses to be very apparent, but I can at times see a resemblance to my side of the house. Mary is doing well and gets up now. She is fairly energetic, but of course rather pale yet, but every day sees an improvement. I propose to come down on Monday evening and stay till Wednesday morning. I can’t tell you the trains off hand but mean to arrive at Badsey station about 7.30 – with little or no luggage. Will you please post to me at once my soft felt hat which Mary packed with my suit. I may as well travel in mufti and save 1st class fare. I have a suit etc here. It is warm and fine here and I am much enjoying my leave. Irene and Hubert are well and their little boy is a jolly little fellow. I’ll keep other news till we meet.

With love to all.

From your son
Arthur

PS - Mary and Baby send love.
