ATOM BUILDER MARRIED AT BADSEY
Married at St James’ Church, Badsey, were Mr John Frank Pogmore Cobb of The Old Farm, Old Post Office Lane, Badsey, and Mrs Ivy Winifred Brocklebank of Home Close, Bromham, Bedfordshire. The service was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev W B Chapman. Mrs G W Marshall was at the organ.

The marriage was solemnised at St James’ Church, Badsey, on Saturday between Miss Joyce Mabel Smith, only daughter of Mr & Mrs B P Smith of Rosemere, Chapel Street, Badsey, and Mr Ronald George Andrew, third son of Mr & Mrs W H Andrew of Sylvan Villas, Chapel Street, Badsey. The ceremony was performed by the Vicar, the Rev W B Chapman, and Mrs G W Marshall was at the organ.
Vandalism by children is being blamed for a second application to Worcestershire County Council for permission to demolish Harrington House at Badsey. Two years ago, the then Minister of Housing told the owners – three businessmen from the village – that the building was of special architectural or historic interest and that it could not be pulled down to make way for development. Now, Evesham Rural District Council is asking Mr H M Watson, the County Planning Officer, if he will lift the preservation order which protects the property.
Harrington House, Badsey, must not be demolished by its owners, three businessmen from the village. The Minister of Housing has ruled that it is of special architectural or historic interest. Accordingly, the Minister has confirmed a preservation order made by Worcestershire County Council in respect of the property.
