My Dear Wife,

I will write a few lines this evening although there is little to communicate.  We are getting on all right so far, and Emily has done no worse in your absence.

I hope you had a good passage and were not too much fatigued.  Ethel heard from Jack this morning so we know that he had seen you off safely from Victoria.  I will enclose Georgie’s letter I certainly wrote to him last week, so the letter must have mis-carried.

His pocket money was quite overlooked somehow, I have now sent it to Miss Rimingham.

The children turned up at Alcester yesterday and enjoyed their drive home.  To-day Cyril has been to play with the little Woods and had tea there, of course he thoroughly enjoyed himself, he confided to me Monday night that he “nearly cried when Mother went.”

We had a committee meeting about the Jubilee yesterday and Mr Price came in for a little while afterwards.  To-morrow we have a meeting about the Flower Show.

My cold is better, I have two early mornings this week and propose to “bike” up and down on each occasion.

We are wondering if you have seen Miss Poulton to-day.

I hope we shall have news of you to-morrow and that you are feeling up to the Bourg journey.  How are they all in Paris give them my love and with much to yourself from us all

I remain
Your affectionate Husband

Julius Sladden
